The latest small batch series test beer of the tradition-follower, yet bravely experimenting Szent András Brewery, the elder-flowering witbier ‘Delta.13’ could be this spring's hit beer. The aim of the third test beer of the small-scale factory in Békésszentandrás is to dress the orange-peeled, coriander notes of the classic Belgian wheat beer in the spring robe typical of the season, thus creating a perfect spring wheat beer.

The new project of the Békésszentandrás-based beer manufacture, the ‘TestAndras project’, started two months ago: the brewery focuses on small batch series of experimental beers, so brave and exciting ideas could be realized. The third piece of the series has also been completed in the brewers' playground, which is a light witbier with 45% real elderflower, promising real spring flavours. In this case, the 45% comes as a live elder concentrate made from real elderberry is reduced the sixth times and then it’s added to the beer in this form. Compared to the volume, 7.5% of the beer consists of massive elderberry, yet this amount corresponds to 45% of live elderberry, retaining every tiny little element of the yeasty and original taste of the wheat beer.

According to brewers at Szent András, "there is no impossible beer, only uncooked beer." The classic Belgian wheat ‘Delta.13’ was made in this spirit, featuring witbier characters, the coriander, the orange peel, the Belgian-yeasty note is strongly felt already in the first sip, followed by a pleasantly elderish finish. It’s a medium malted, light spring drink for those looking for a really special wheat beer or a refreshing elder beer. In addition to the usual staff, highly appreciated brewers Tomi Mátyus and Máté Kiss, who also work as home brewers, joined the work of the experimental lab ‘TesztAndrás’. This beer, like the previous ones, came as a dream by István Balogh, one of the excellent brewers of Békésszentandrás, and Tomi Mátyus, a friend and external colleague of the small-scale factory.

Related to TestAndras beers, a closed Facebook group ‘TestAndras Club’ (TesztAndrás Klub) has been launched, where the brewery focuses on consumer opinions. Members of the group can get information about the new TestAndras experimental beers first-hand, win packages for tasting, and they can also look behind the scenes, ask questions, get information from the manufacture’s brewers, join private online events, share their experiences about experimental beers and even share their opinions, which may also affect future small batches.
